Managing DirectorAndrew J. Buchholtz has served as a banker, consultant and operator in the media industry for nearly 20 years. Originally a consultant to magazine publishers and direct marketers at J.S. Eliezer Associates in New York City, he joined Veronis Suhler Stevenson in 1995 and spent ten years buying and selling media properties as a mergers & acquisitions advisor.
Included among the dozens of transactions he has executed, Andy sold Fast Company Magazine for the Zuckerman Group to Gruner + Jahr (USA), sold White Directory Publishers to the Hearst Corporation, sold Clipper Magazine to Ganett, Inc. and sold Highline Media to Summit Business Media, simultaneously financing the latter transaction.
Additionally, Andy owned Partnership interests in Veronis Suhler Communications Partners II and Veronis Suhler Communications Partners III, the Veronis Suhler Stevenson private equity affiliates. From 2006 through 2008, Andy served as Managing Director in the BMO Capital Markets Media, Communications & Technology Group where he provided both debt and equity products to media industry clients. Andy has also held the title of Vice President of Operations for PRIMEDIA Special Interest Publications. He earned an MBA in Management from Boston University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, also from Boston University.

Paul Hale
Senior AdvisorPaul Hale has a distinguished career as an investment banker and senior magazine publishing executive, and is presently working as an independent consultant and investment banker to the media industry. Until recently he served as a Senior Advisor at AdMedia Partners, Inc., an investment bank specializing in advertising, marketing services and media transactions. Mr. Hale was previously a Managing Director at DeSilva & Phillips, where he concentrated on publishing mergers and acquisitions and founded and headed the firm's corporate finance department. Prior he was a Managing Director of Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a New York-based merchant bank. During his over 20 years doing mergers and acquisitions and private placements, Mr. Hale has completed more than 80 publishing transactions, including the sales of Chicago, Power & MotorYacht, Soap Opera Digest, Modern Bride, Murdoch Magazines, Centennial Media, North American Outdoor Group, Western Horseman, Modern Luxury Media, Guide Communications and F&W Publications.
His earlier 16-year publishing career included posts as President and Publisher of American Heritage Publishing Company and Executive Vice President of Esquire. Mr. Hale held several advertising and financial positions at Time Inc., and was part of the senior management team which launched both People and Money magazines.
Mr. Hale holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant on the USS Shangri-La (CVA 38), as Repair Division Officer and Public Affairs Officer.
Mr. Hale has served as a director on the boards of Yellow Book U.S.A, PJS Publications, CBH Publishing, Inc., American Heritage Publishing Co., Esquire Magazine, Inc., Dynamic Resource Group and Ambassador Publications, as well as on the boards of non-profit companies, including International Schools Services (Chairman), Morningside Montessori School (President) and The Calhoun School (Treasurer). He is a member of the Dartmouth Club of New York, Off Soundings Club and Theodore Gordon Fly Fishers.
